Pink Floyd | HIGH HOPES

“High Hopes” wurde 1994 auf dem Album DEVIGHT IS THE NEW DAY veröffentlicht.

Zu Pink Floyd selbst muß man wohl nicht viel sagen. Sie sind mittlerweile Urgesteine und Legenden gleichermaßen.
“High Hopes” bildet den Abschluß ihres bis dato letzten Studioalbums THE DEVISION BELL. Sehr ungewöhnlich auch hier, einmal ein Musikvideo zu sehen, dass obwohl es von der Länge nicht in das typische 3-4 Minuten Schema passt, stehts in kompletter länge zu sehen war. Oftmals wird für das Musikvideo der Song nämlich gekürzt. Das ist hier nicht der Fall.
Besonders Augenmerk möchte ich hier auch noch auf den Text legen. Ich bin alles andere als ein Textmensch, aber dieser bewegt mich jedes mal aufs Neue.

“Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun”
